Basketball Game Preview: Taft Greyhounds vs. Lyford Bulldogs

The Taft Greyhounds and the Lyford Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Taft is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past San Diego 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Greyhounds have posted since January 14th.

Meanwhile, Lyford had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Monday. They breezed past Vanguard Academy Beethoven to the tune of 77-39. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 18-16. As for Lyford, their win bumped their record up to 25-7.
