Volleyball Recap: Otto-Eldred Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Port Allegany, Otto-Eldred was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Austin Panthers by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Terrors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

While Otto-Eldred might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Austin scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18.

Rayel Hakes paced Otto-Eldred's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hakes got some help from Emma Button and her 38 assists. Jahden Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Otto-Eldred's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Austin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Otto-Eldred wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Cameron County on the 25th. As for Austin, they will challenge Smethport at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
