On Friday, Kenwood sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over Kirkwood.

Jakoby Cox had a dynamite game for Kenwood, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Cox is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Davon Martin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Kenwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Kirkwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.
