Recap: Millennium Lions vs. Piedmont Classical Bobcats
The Millennium Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 16th straight loss. They were beaten by Piedmont Classical 89-20. Millennium has struggled against the Bobcats recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Piedmont Classical found their leader in underclassman La'Trel Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'el Lawson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Millennium's loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Piedmont Classical, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.
Millennium will be playing at home against the Bengals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Triad Math and Science Academy is ranked 663rd, while the Lions are ranked 682nd). As for Piedmont Classical, they will head out on the road to square off against the Phoenix at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Winston-Salem Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
