Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pocomoke). They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over St. Michaels on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Addyson Holland was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Holland was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Pocomoke got a massive performance out of Kendall Rayfield, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Rayfield a new career-high. Oliva Skorobatsch was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pocomoke always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Michaels only posted an OBP of .269.
Snow Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Pocomoke, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
