Preview: Centennial Bulldogs vs. Sunrise Mountain Miners
Centennial has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Sunrise Mountain Miners at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 202 points over their last five matchups.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Centennial walked away with it. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over Somerset Academy Losee on Friday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Centennial was the better team in the second half.
Dale Flores jr and Vic Plotnikov were among the main playmakers for Centennial as the former picked up 162 receiving yards and a touchdown and the latter threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt. Flores jr's longest reception was for an incredible 81 yards. Jhbari Christmas got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They secured a 6-0 W over Canyon Springs.
Their wins bumped Centennial to 10-1 and Sunrise Mountain to 9-1.
