Basketball Game Preview: Mission Vista vs. Calvin Christian Crusaders

Mission Vista will face off against the Calvin Christian Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Mission Vista turned things around against Escondido Charter on Tuesday. They secured a 57-53 W over the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Calvin Christian didn't have too much trouble with Orange Glen on Wednesday as they won 50-34. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Calvin Christian's win came from a few key players Mission Vista will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Lapka, who posted 22 points. The game was his third in a row with at least 17 points. Micah Briones was another key player, putting up 15 points.

The win got Calvin Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Mission Vista, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Mission Vista came out on top in a nail-biter against Calvin Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, sneaking past 66-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mission Vista since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
