Preview: Community Vikings/Viqueens vs. Eagleville Eagles
Community has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Community Vikings/Viqueens and the Eagleville Eagles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Community is ranked 89th, while Eagleville is ranked 109th).
Even though Community has not done well against Huntland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Community sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over Huntland.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Haskins, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. The matchup was Haskins' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Yoes, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Eagleville had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Cascade 53-34 last Tuesday.
The losses dropped Community to 3-3 and Huntland to 1-4.
Community strolled past Eagleville in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 65-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Community since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
