Basketball Recap: Wendover Comes Up Short

Wendover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manila Mustangs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Ruthanna Wilson was a one-woman wrecking crew for Manila as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. Wilson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Kallie Bair was another key player, going 6 for 14 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Wendover's record now sits at 1-10. As for Manila, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wendover will square off against Tintic at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manila, they will challenge Little Snake River at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
