The Purchase Line Red Dragons will take on the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Purchase Line had to settle for a 22-19 loss against Penns Manor.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brock Small, who rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of John Elick, who rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Moshannon Valley took a serious blow against Berlin Brothersvalley on Friday, falling 50-13. Moshannon Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-0.
Despite the defeat, Moshannon Valley saw an underclassman step up: Rocco Reifer gained 91 total yards and a touchdown.
Purchase Line's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Moshannon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Purchase Line has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 216.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Moshannon Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 207.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
