Soccer Game Preview: Pulaski County vs. Christiansburg

Pulaski County is 2-8 against Christiansburg since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cougars will face off against the Blue Demons at 7:00 p.m. Pulaski County has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pulaski County is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 5-1 to Salem. While losing is never fun, Pulaski County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Salem are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Christiansburg's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Salem by a score of 2-1. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Christiansburg couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Luca Pickeral, who's now up to four this season.

Pulaski County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Christiansburg, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Pulaski County might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Christiansburg when the teams last played back in April. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
