Basketball Recap: Kaufman Comes Up Short

Kaufman and Ellison squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Kaufman had to settle for second. They took a 33-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ellison Eagles. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Kaufman lost, don't look at Kaylee Wrenn. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points. That was a full 57.1% of Kaufman's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Kaufman's loss dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Ellison, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-10.

Kaufman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ellison, they will square off against Poteet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Poteet will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Ellison surely won't give up without a fight.
