Baseball Recap: Dawson School Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Dawson School was the 9-1 winner over Bishop Machebeuf when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell 11-8 to the Buffaloes on Thursday.

Milo Richtel stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Shelton Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Dawson School's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5. As for Bishop Machebeuf, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dawson School will venture away from home to face off against Rocky Mountain Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they will head out to challenge SkyView Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
