Softball Preview: West Jessamine Colts vs. Bath County Wildcats
The West Jessamine Colts will take on the Bath County Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for West Jessamine: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bath County has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.

Michaela Tate made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-6 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Paige Hobgood was a standout: she went 3-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Abigail Myszak, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI and one run.
West Jessamine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .521. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Hills only posted an OBP of .353.
Meanwhile, Bath County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Boyd County, falling 8-2.
