Football Recap: Stillwater Beats Canajoharie/Fort Plain for Their Third Straight Victory

Stillwater waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over Canajoharie/Fort Plain. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Canajoharie/Fort Plain, too.

Stillwater's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Vacula, who rushed for 143 yards and one score on only 15 carries. The Warriors also got a significant boost from Aidan Callanan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stillwater was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 247 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Stillwater now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Canajoharie/Fort Plain, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stillwater will face off against rival Greenwich at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 13.8, the Witches 1.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Canajoharie/Fort Plain is set to challenge their familiar foe Warrensburg/Lake George/Bolton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
