Softball Recap: Grosse Pointe South's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Grosse Pointe South dropped their record down to 19-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Warren Woods-Tower Titans by a score of 8-7. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 14-9.

As for Warren Woods-Tower, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 11th.

For Warren Woods-Tower's part, Aislinn Lipar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Lipar was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Gabby Lewis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Iris Everett, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Coming up, Grosse Pointe South will challenge L'Anse Creuse at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Warren Woods-Tower, they will square off against New Haven at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
