Soccer Game Preview: Sierra Linda vs. Copper Canyon

The Sierra Linda Bulldogs will take on the Copper Canyon Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sierra Linda sitting on four straight wins and Copper Canyon on three.

Sierra Linda's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Paradise Valley with a sharp 5-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won five games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Copper Canyon was able to grind out a solid win over Glendale on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1. Given the Aztecs' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Cardinals are ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Copper Canyon hit Glendale with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Francisco Garcia, Anthony Ortiz, and Alonso Noriega.

Sierra Linda has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those ten matches. As for Copper Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-4.
