Football Recap: Carver Beats Hardaway for Their 19th Straight Win

Carver put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to the Hardaway Hawks for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-0 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Hawks are ranked 443rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kelston Tarver was his usual excellent self, rushing for 127 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Tarver is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 109 every time he's taken the field this season. Another back making a difference was Jakobe Caslin, who rushed for 64 yards and one score on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Zach Watts, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Carver's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Hardaway, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Carver has already played their next matchup, a 48-0 win against Shaw on the 2nd. As for Hardaway, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
