Basketball Recap: Anthony Fresh Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Henryville

Charlestown was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Henryville on Saturday. The Charlestown Pirates blew past the Henryville Hornets 65-41. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Charlestown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Fresh out in front who went 9 of 15 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. Fresh's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. AJ Todd was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

When it comes to explaining why Henryville lost, don't look at Wyatt Owens. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 14 on his way to 25 points. Demontae Fuqua also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

The win snapped Charlestown's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-5 record. As for Henryville, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlestown will head out to challenge North Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Charlestown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season. As for Henryville, they will head out on the road to take on Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Henryville is facing Eastern at the right time seeing as Eastern is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
