Baseball Recap: Marysville Takes a Loss

Marysville lost against Oakmont last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Marysville came up short against Oakmont, falling 12-2. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Marysville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julien Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Johnson a new career-high.

Marysville's loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1. As for Oakmont, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Marysville is set to challenge their familiar foe Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oakmont will square off against rival Wheatland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Oakmont 3, Wheatland 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
