The Timber Creek Regional Chargers will take on the Cumberland Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cumberland took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Timber Creek Regional, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Timber Creek Regional needed a bit of extra time to put away Triton. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs, sneaking past 7-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Brycen Monitzer looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Timber Creek Regional: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Cole Scanlan was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Traynor, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Hammonton, falling 17-5.
Josh Holt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Josh Bodine was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
Cumberland's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Timber Creek Regional, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
Timber Creek Regional came out on top in a nail-biter against Cumberland in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
