Basketball Recap: River Valley Takes a Loss

River Valley was the 68-64 winner over Nelsonville-York when they last played one another back in December of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell 44-40 to the Buckeyes on Monday.

Madi Pidcock had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds for Nelsonville-York. That makes it five consecutive games in which Pidcock has scored at least a third of the Buckeyes' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Jolley, who posted eight points.

River Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Nelsonville-York, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

River Valley has already played their next game (against Athens), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Nelsonville-York, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-31 defeat against Southern on the 14th.
