Soccer Recap: Charlestown Takes a Loss

After flying high against Salem on Tuesday, Charlestown came back down to earth. The Pirates lost 5-0 to the Silver Creek Dragons on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Charlestown of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Charlestown's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9. As for Silver Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Charlestown is set to face off against their familiar foe Corydon Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Silver Creek will take on rival Scottsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
