Softball Recap: Lee Williams Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dysart last Monday, Lee Williams came back down to earth. Lee Williams came up short against the Coconino Panthers on Thursday, falling 12-1. The Volunteers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Lee Williams saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Willis-Bertram, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lee Williams' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Coconino, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Lee Williams is taking a road trip to face off against Cactus Shadows at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cactus Shadows will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lee Williams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coconino, they will host Prescott at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
