Baseball Recap: Woodside Victorious

Woodside won the last time they faced Aragon and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Dons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Joseph Hohl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mateus Mokhtarani, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Cruz Torres, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Woodside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Woodside now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Aragon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Woodside has already played their next game, a 6-2 loss against Lowell on the 19th. As for Aragon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against San Mateo on the 22nd.
