Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Dragons vs. Toledo Boomers

Monroe and Toledo are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Monroe Dragons will take on the Toledo Boomers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Toledo took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Monroe, who comes in off a win.

Monroe is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They took down Waldport 50-36 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Toledo came up short against East Linn Christian Academy on Tuesday, falling 77-55. The loss continues a trend for the Boomers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Toledo's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Monroe came up short against Toledo in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 47-42. Can Monroe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
