Basketball Recap: Academic Magnet Takes a Loss

Academic Magnet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Waccamaw Warriors, falling 53-26. The Raptors were down 45-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Sophia Benich was Academic Magnet's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Lindsey Griffin held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Academic Magnet now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Waccamaw, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Academic Magnet will take on Stratford in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waccamaw, they and Oceanside Collegiate Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Waccamaw surely won't give up without a fight.
