Softball Recap: Western Wayne Takes a Loss

Western Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-6 to the Mid Valley Spartans. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Hannah DeStefano was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Mistishin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Western Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mid Valley, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Western Wayne is set to take on their familiar foe Honesdale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mid Valley will square off against rival Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 0.8, the Crusaders 1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
