Basketball Recap: Hanna Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Hanna unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the La Feria Lions. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Hanna lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Beto Galarza, who posted 17 points. The contest was Galarza's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Rolando Roman was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Hanna's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for La Feria, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Hanna will take on Edinburg in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. As for La Feria, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-40 defeat against Edinburg North on the 14th.
