Baseball Game Preview: Maxwell Panthers vs. Los Molinos Bulldogs

The Maxwell Panthers will square off against the Los Molinos Bulldogs on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Maxwell 2.8, Los Molinos 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Maxwell is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Biggs 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won four in a row.

Maxwell let Alex Krug and Luke Pearson run wild. Krug went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Pearson got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three RBI gave Krug a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Jones, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Maxwell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Biggs struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Los Molinos waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Lions. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Izick Nelson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

Maxwell's record now sits at 20-6. As for Los Molinos, their record is now 22-6.

Maxwell came out on top in a nail-biter against Los Molinos in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
