Basketball Recap: Brayden Leija Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

There's no place like home for Teague, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-40 victory over the Elkhart Elks on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Teague to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Leija, who posted 11 points and eight boards. Clifford Coleman was another key player, putting up ten points and six steals.

Teague's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-11. As for Elkhart, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Teague will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhart, they will venture away from home to square off against Buffalo at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
