Volleyball Recap: West-Oak Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for West-Oak, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Liberty Red Devils on Tuesday. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Devils, too.

West-Oak not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Liberty between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Joanna Burgess paced West-Oak's offense, picking up eight kills. Burgess got some help from Ashton Sosby and her 19 assists. Burgess was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

West-Oak's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Liberty, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, West-Oak and Liberty will both be playing Daniel the next time they take the court. The Red Devils will head out to face the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
