Baseball Recap: Rancho Verde Takes a Loss

Rancho Verde managed to slip by Rancho Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Eagles on Thursday, falling 13-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Sebas Cazares made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of David Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Rancho Verde has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Rancho Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Verde will take on Orange Vista at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Rancho Christian, they will square off against Hillcrest at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
