Recap: Southlake Carroll Dragons vs. Byron Nelson Bobcat

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Southlake Carroll Dragons had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 56-7 win over the Bobcat on the road. The result was nothing new for Southlake Carroll, who have now won 13 matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.

Southlake Carroll found their leader in underclassman Davis Penn, who rushed for 143 yards and four touchdowns. Penn is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Wormley, who rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.

The win was the fifth in a row for Southlake Carroll, bringing their record for this year to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Byron Nelson, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-1.

Southlake Carroll is on the road again on Saturday and play against DeSoto at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th. One thing working in DeSoto's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Byron Nelson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
