Christopher dropped their record down to 12-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 5-1 to the Willow Glen Rams. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Willow Glen, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.

For Willow Glen's part, they got a great performance from Dante Pini as he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Pini has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Willow Glen let Ray Walsh and Joshua Kaminski run wild. Walsh went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double, while Kaminski went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

While Christopher had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
