Ashland had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Hayward on Monday. The Oredockers blew past the Hurricanes 19-6. The Oredockers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Ashland, bringing their record up to 10-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hayward, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8-1.

Coming up, Ashland will venture away from home to face off against Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Oredockers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Hayward, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cameron at 5:00 p.m.
