Basketball Recap: Greenville Tech Charter's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Greenville Tech Charter extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Gracyn Schreel. The Greenville Tech Charter Warriors snuck past the High Point Academy Grizzlies with a 50-45 win on Friday thanks in part to Schreel, who posted 26 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Alacyea Killingsworth, who scored eight points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Greenville Tech Charter is 5-2 when Killingsworth posts three or more steals, but 5-6 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why High Point Academy lost, don't look at Ella Zhuk. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on her way to 22 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ti'Jah Davis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Greenville Tech Charter pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for High Point Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Greenville Tech Charter has already played their next contest (against Laurens Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. High Point Academy will face off against Chesnee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
