Volleyball Recap: MacDonald Takes a Loss

MacDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Santa Clara Bruins, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss back in March.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-16.

Tobin Ley paced MacDonald's offense, picking up 18 kills. Ley got some help from Dylan Bugarin and his 28 assists. Bugarin was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

MacDonald's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Santa Clara, their victory bumped their record up to 9-19.

MacDonald wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Eastside College Prep on the 7th. As for Santa Clara, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Palo Alto on the 7th.
