Softball Recap: Our Lady of Mercy Monarchs vs. Penfield Patriots
Our Lady of Mercy dropped their record down to 4-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell 5-2 to the Penfield Patriots. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
As for Penfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

Coming up, Our Lady of Mercy will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Letchworth at 10:00 a.m. As for Penfield, they are taking a road trip to challenge Greece Odyssey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
