Softball Game Preview: Scranton Prep Cavaliers vs. Delaware Valley Warriors

The Scranton Prep Cavaliers will challenge the Delaware Valley Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Scranton Prep is looking for their season's first victory.

Scranton Prep couldn't beat Valley View on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Cavaliers lost 12-6 to the Cougars.

Scranton Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Wilce, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base was Wilce's first of the season. Another was Maizie Davolos, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Delaware Valley had just enough and edged out Scranton 4-2 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won five in a row.

Holly Olcott made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Olcott was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brianna Rebman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

Scranton Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Delaware Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Everything went Scranton Prep's way against Delaware Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Scranton Prep made off with an 8-2 win. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
