Baseball Recap: Molalla Find Success

While Molalla's win against The Dalles wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Riverhawks 5-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 12-2 win two weeks ago.

Molalla got a great performance from Kyler Dickerson as he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Dickerson has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, Nyxon Hopping was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Molalla and bumps their season record up to 18-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for The Dalles, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.

Coming up, Molalla will challenge Hidden Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Dalles, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Junction City on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Riverhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
