Soccer Recap: Petal Takes a Loss

If Petal was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Meridian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Petal Panthers lost 4-0 to the Oak Grove Warriors on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in December of 2024.

Petal's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Oak Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 14-3-1 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Petal challenge the Northwest Rankin at 10:30 a.m. on January 25th. Oak Grove has already played their next contest (against Brandon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
