Volleyball Recap: Newcomerstown Gets the Win + How To Watch

The Newcomerstown Trojans were able to grind out a solid win over the Washington Tigers on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Newcomerstown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Makayla McConnell, who had 12 digs and two assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Washington's loss came despite strong showings from Aujanae Benjamin and Mariah Thornton. Benjamin had ten digs and two aces, while Thornton had 16 digs and one assist.

Newcomerstown's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Newcomerstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Conotton Valley on the 2nd. As for Washington, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Canton South on the 7th.
