Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atrisco Heritage Academy). They blew past the Rio Grande Ravens 57-31 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Jaguars as it spelled an end to their 13-game losing streak.

Selim Neel was nothing short of spectacular: she posted 20 points along with six boards and six steals. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmin West, who went 6 for 15 en route to 14 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Atrisco Heritage Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Rio Grande lost, don't look at Sophia L?pez. Despite the final result, she put up 12 points and six rebounds. That was a full 38.7% of Rio Grande's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Mercedes Valenzuela also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Atrisco Heritage Academy's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-13. As for Rio Grande, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Atrisco Heritage Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-40 defeat against Eldorado on the 16th. As for Rio Grande, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-50 loss against Manzano on the 15th.
