Recap: Elberta Warriors vs. East Central Hornets
This season hasn't been kind to the Elberta Warriors, who are still winless after their 18th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 37-3 loss at the hands of East Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Elberta has suffered since December 11, 2023.
Hina Childers was Elberta's leading scorer, having posted two points.
Aubrey Faino held things down on the boards with 14 rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Elberta dropped their record down to 0-18 with that loss, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elberta the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bayside Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. East Central will take on Vancleave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Vancleave is ranked 282nd, while East Central is ranked 266th).
