It was a good run, but Fountain Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to the Parke Heritage Wolves on the road by a 43-29 margin. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fountain Central lost, don't look at Kaylee Spragg. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Spragg has posted since back in November of 2024.

It was another big night for Emma Simpson, who went 9 for 12 on her way to 21 points and eight boards for Parke Heritage. Another player making a difference was Lila Busenbark, who put up nine points and three steals.

Fountain Central's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-4. As for Parke Heritage, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Fountain Central and Parke Heritage should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Fountain Central (ranked 132nd) will meet South Vermillion (ranked 406th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain Central's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Parke Heritage's offense will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Parke Heritage will square off against Attica at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 250 places (101 vs. 351).
