Softball Recap: Hoover Cardinals vs. Montgomery Aztecs
Hoover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 25-5 to the Montgomery Aztecs. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Aztecs from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
Heather Perez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lilly Robles, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Montgomery, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Hoover wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 27-25 victory against Monte Vista on the 21st. As for Montgomery, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-8 win against Chula Vista Learning Community Charter on the 19th.
