Flag Football Recap: Peachtree Ridge Comes Up Short

The Peachtree Ridge Lions were just a hair shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 13-12 to the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans. The loss put an end to the Lions' undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Peachtree Ridge lost, don't look at Layla Khiev. Despite the final result, she rushed for 58 yards and one TD, and also threw for 107 yards and one touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Peachtree Ridge fell to 2-1. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Peachtree Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grayson at 6:30 p.m. on November 3. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they have already played their next contest, a 32-6 victory against Parkview on the 15th.
