Baseball Recap: Hoxie Snaps 12-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Walnut Ridge, Hoxie was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Marmaduke Greyhounds with a sharp 12-0 victory. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 10-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Logan Light made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Hayden McIntire was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Slaughter, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Hoxie's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Hoxie has already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against Manila on the 13th. As for Marmaduke, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-6 loss against Bay on the 13th.
