Football Game Preview: Wylie East Raiders vs. Rockwall-Heath Hawks

Two dominant signal callers in Jaiden McLemore and Prosper Neal are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wylie East Raiders will face off against the Rockwall-Heath Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wylie East is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Friday, Wylie East was able to grind out a solid win over Wylie, taking the game 36-28. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Pirates are ranked 639th).

Wylie East found their leader in sophomore Jonathan Utubor, who rushed for 166 yards and three TDs. Those 166 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Utubor.

Wylie East didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Wylie to a completion percentage of just 19%. The Raiders weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 62.5%.

Meanwhile, Rockwall-Heath ended up a good deal behind Forney on Thursday and lost 42-28.

Wylie East's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Rockwall-Heath, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Wylie East couldn't quite get it done against Rockwall-Heath in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as they fell 23-16. Thankfully for the Raiders, Caleb Hoover (who threw for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 53 yards) won't be suiting up this time.
